WHAT MAKES A POLESTAR
The S60 and V60
Polestar cars are based on the highest specification Volvo models, then
numerous upgrades are made to transform them into Polestar Volvos. Here
are a number of areas where improvements have been
made:
PERFORMANCE
Chassis
An extensively
enhanced chassis provides the driver with increased control, feedback
and driving pleasure. The changes include Öhlins shock absorbers and
stiffer springs, reducing body movement and lowering the car.

The eight-speed automatic gearbox
features a new paddle shift system, Polestar-developed BorgWarner
all-wheel drive ventilated and slotted as well as recalibrated traction
control to provide maximum grip in all situations.

20" Polestar wheels are fitted with high-performance summer tires, resulting in significantly more grip and precise steering response.

The brake system uses

The Polestar Performance Optimization increases the performance of your Volvo, offering you an enhanced driving experience
The technology has been developed by Polestar in close co-operation with the power train engineers of Volvo Cars. The optimization is exclusively installed by authorized Volvo dealer and it is a quick installation that can easily be done while your car is in for a service or tire change.
Throttle Response
The throttle response has been optimized for improved feedback and response, for example when overtaking or during active driving on a twisty road. The calibration means that the engine responds faster to the commands of the driver and thereby providing a more precise driving experience.Gearshift Speed*
The gearshift speed has been increased for the car to accelerate faster and react more direct to the commands of the driver, for example when shifting down fast ahead of an overtaking maneuver. A faster gearbox provides the driver with more direct control of the car.Gearshift Precision and Gear Hold*
The gearshifts have been calibrated to provide a more direct and precise driving experience as well as faster acceleration. Gearshift points have been calibrated to efficiently utilize the optimized mid-range performance of the engine. The gear hold function holds the gear during cornering at high lateral g-forces, preventing unwanted gearshifts mid-corner that can unsettle the balance of the car.Off-throttle Response*
The gearbox and engine has been calibrated to provide a faster response when the driver quickly lifts off the throttle for a brief moment, for example during a short period of braking ahead of a corner. These functions keep the car in balance during fast cornering and provide the drive with improved predictability and control of the car.
