Full-Time Parts Counterman

Family owned Culver City Volvo Cars is seeking experienced Full-Time Parts Counterman

Parts Department:

  • Sells products and/or services to repair the problem and meet the customer's needs.
  • Maintain customer goodwill by greeting and acknowledge all customers he/she comes in contact with.
  • Assist in keeping parts department clean and orderly.
  • Record all sales and/or customer transactions that occur.
  • Provide service technicians with parts as required.
  • Assist with Parts Manager in merchandising displays.
  • Performs routine housekeeping tasks that maintain and enhances the cleanliness of products and the retail sales area.
  • When working the parts counter, follows prescribed cash, credit, and check processing procedures of the dealership. Processes cores, warranties, and new return merchandise as required at a point of sale.
  • Attends training as prescribed by management to maintain proficiency in his/her job description.
  • Performs other tasks as required by Parts Manager.
  • Keeps himself/herself groomed and clothed per dealership guidelines.
  • Follow up on shortages and expedite by reporting or Parts Manager.
  • Treat customers fairly and with honesty, and demonstrate our commitment to superior customer service and ethical business practices.

  • Presenting new and used vehicles to prospective customers in a friendly and professional manner by explaining characteristics, capabilities, and features.
  • Performing vehicle walk arounds and demonstration test drives with prospective customers while comparing and contrasting competitive models and explaining warranties and services.
  • Prospecting for new customers and customer referrals and maintain consistent rapport with previously sold customers. Handling customer email, phone and internet leads --- especially following through on commitments made to customers.
  • Working with Sales Managers in order to present purchase or lease options to prospective customers. Learning to overcome objections, asking for the sale, negotiating price, completing sales or purchase agreements and accurately explaining and offering warranties, services, and financing options.
  • Maintaining manufacturer customer satisfaction and training requirements. Continually learn about product updates, features, accessories, inventory and their benefits to the customer.
  • Establishing personal goals that are consistent with dealership standards of productivity, and devising a strategy to meet those goals.
  • Attending sales meetings and training sessions as required. Coordinating work with team members and management.
  • Making sure new and used vehicle display area is neat, clean and orderly.
  • Following all company policies and procedures. Demonstrating behaviors consistent with Culver City Mazda/Volvo values in all interactions with customers, employees and vendors.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: While no experience is necessary, an ideal candidate will be dependable, professional, and have a positive, can-do attitude. Other requirements include:

  • 18 years of age or older.
  •  At least 2 years of Automotive Sales experience preferred.
  • General familiarity with a variety of automobiles.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Pre-employment background check and drug test.
  • Must be willing to work as part of a team.
  • Must have basic computer and phone skills.
